What is AISSEE 2024?

AISSEE 2024 is a common entrance exam for admission to 33 Old Sainik Schools and 38 approved New Sainik Schools under the aegis of the Sainik School Society. Admission to All India Sainik Schools is made through AISSEE 2024 followed by E-Counselling, Medical Fitness certified by Competent Medical Authority and verification of documents. Final selection will be on the basis of the position in the Merit List of AISSEE 2024.

What is AISSAC 2024?

AISSAC 2024 is a common admission counselling process for admission to 33 Old Sainik Schools and 38 approved New Sainik Schools for academic year 2024-25 under the aegis of the Sainik School Society. Admission to All India Sainik Schools is made through AISSEE 2024 followed by E-Counselling, Medical Fitness certified by Competent Medical Authority and verification of documents.

What are passing marks for admission in Sainik Schools ?

A candidate is eligible for admission to the Sainik Schools if he/ she secures a minimum of 25% marks in each subject of AISSEE exam and 40% marks in aggregate of all the subjects of AISSEE 2024. However, no minimum marks are prescribed for candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste or Scheduled Tribe category.

However, admission will be based on relative merit (in AISSEE) of candidate in his/ her category in the school opted by him/ her, medical fitness and verification of requisite documents. 

They will be admitted on the basis of inter-se merit at the Entrance Examination within their respective categories, subject to medical fitness and verification of requisite documents.

What is the admission procedure after AISSEE 2024 result announcement?

All those students who qualify AISSEE 2024 exam are required to register online for e-counselling. Candidates are advised to register on official Sainik School e counselling portal at https://sainikschool.ncog.gov.in for this purpose. Subsequently, Round 1 to Round 4 of counselling will be announced. Those students who are selected in various rounds of Sainik School e-counselling 2024 will be required to undergo medical examination and verification of documents at allotted exam centre & Sainik School.

What is Sainik School Society?

Sainik School Society is an autonomous organisation under the Ministry of Defence, Govt of India. SSS manages admissions in both Sainik Schools & New Sainik Schools. These Schools are involved in imparting quality education & training to cadets to be good citizens & prepare them to be good citizens and prepare them to excel in all walks of life.

What are Sainik Schools?

Sainik School are residential English medium CBSE schools that prepare Cadets to join National Defence Academy, Indian Naval Academy & other training academies as officers. All existing Sainik Schools cater for the Science stream only. Besides academics, the students are encouraged to develop their creative faculties through co-curricular activities & socially useful productive works. They are also introduced systematically to all major games & are given NCC training.

What are New Sainik Schools?

New Sainik Schools are schools operated by Ministry of Defence in partnership with NGOs / Private Schools / state governments. In addition to their regular affiliated board curriculum, they also impart education of academic PLUS curriculum to the students in the Sainik School Pattern. The fee structure, Education Board and language of Instruction of approved New Sainik Schools differ from School to School. Admission for Sainik School Pattern in the approved New Sainik Schools is in class 6 only through AISSEE 2024 for the academic year 2024-25.

It is mandatory for the candidates to register through the official e-counselling online portal to be able to obtain seats to be allocated through AISSAC in any of the existing and New Sainik Schools other than the school already filled during AISSEE 2024 registration on the NTA portal.

It is mandatory for the candidates to register through the official AISSAC-2024 online portal to be able to obtain seats to be allocated through AISSAC-2024 in any of the existing or New Sainik Schools other than the school already filled during AISSEE-2024 registration on the NTA portal. Candidates must log on to the AISSAC website (https://pesa.ncog.gov.in/sainikschoolecounselling/) to register and fill in choices. Please read and understand the SOP for AISSAC/FAQs-2024 carefully before the start of online registration & choice filling. Further, candidates are advised to make a tentative list according to their preference of schools after going through the seat matrix uploaded on the website before choice filling/locking.

Since, it is an online allotment (Counselling) process, no documents are required during registration. However, you must produce documents at the time of Physical Verification at admitted school as per the details filled/verified by you during AISSEE/AISSAC-2024 registration.

No, there is no participation fees for e-counselling on AISSAC portal. Registration and Filling-in of choices on the online AISSAC portal is free of cost.

No change of category is allowed at AISSAC-2024 registration stage.

If you wish to edit your choices after locking but before the choice filling deadline, you can do so easily by clicking on the EDIT CHOICES on the portal.

No. You will not be allowed to edit your choice list after the deadline for choice filling, i.e., you cannot change the order of your choices NOR add any more schools NOR delete any school from the choice list after the deadline for choice filling.

If you do not lock your choices, last filled choices by the candidates will be locked automatically upon reaching the deadline for choice filling. The automatically locked choice list will be considered for allocating a seat during AISSAC-2024.

The Online seat allotment process will start as per the Schedule of the AISSAC2024, promulgated on the AISSAC portal https://pesa.ncog.gov.in/sainikschoolecounselling/.

After you accept the school, you need to carry out admission formalities within stipulated timeline by reporting physically as per the instructions of the school. If you are allocated a seat in a certain round of AISSAC, you need to follow steps mentioned below: – 
(a) Opt for RECONSIDER option in the seat allotment section. 
(b) Now you can participate in the next round of counselling for the remaining available seats. In doing so, the allotted seat shall be automatically cancelled and no further claim will be admissible for earlier allotted school.
(c) Choices filled can be changed during next Round of choice filling. If choices are not changed by you then earlier choices of previous Round will be considered for allotment of school.

No. Once you are allocated a seat and you have opted for reconsideration, your accepted seat from the earlier round will be automatically cancelled and you cannot get the previously allotted seat.

There is no such option being provided to the candidates after seat is accepted by the candidates. If candidate is not satisfied with the seat allotment, he/she can choose option for reconsideration by clicking on ‘RECONSIDER’ button. In such case, you will be considered for the next round of counselling for the remaining available seats.

You have to follow all the steps after acceptance of seat in allotted school. You need to get your medical done at the medical center allocated to you within stipulated time and then you should report to school with FIT medical report for further Physical Verification of documents and payment of fees. Your allocated seat will be cancelled, if you do not complete all the steps of reporting process including the payment of fee within stipulated timeline. After you are declared FIT by the medical authorities, you need to report Physically at the allotted school for document verification. Then, you need to pay the fees for confirmation of seat at allotted school. Please refer to SOP for AISSAC for more details.

Your allocated seat will be cancelled, and you will no longer be able to participate in the subsequent rounds of seat allocation process (if any) if you do not complete all the steps of Medical cum Physical Verification process including the payment of fee within the stipulated timeline. If you were allocated and confirmed the seat in a certain round and now, you are not interested in joining the allocated school then you must submit your unwillingness to the school through mail. Besides, if you do not report to allocated school before last date (as per timeline), it will be considered that you are not interested in joining the school and the allotted seat will be cancelled.

No, there is no need to change the category (OBC-NCL/SC/ST) of the candidate to the UR category during admission if the candidate gets allotted a UR category seat.

Fresh registration is available in the 2nd Round for candidates who have not registered in the 1st Round of Counselling. Freshly registered candidates need to fill choices. Candidates opted for reconsideration may change their choices filled in Round-1 before deadline. If choices are not changed by you in Round 2 then earlier choices of Round1 will be considered for allotment of school.
